How saving works
Autosave, what the status indicator means, and what to do if saving fails.
DiagramDock saves automatically. There is no Save button, because there is nothing to save to — your work is written to this browser's storage shortly after you stop making changes.
The status indicator
| Shows | Means |
|---|---|
| Saving… | A write is in progress |
| Saved locally | The current state is stored in this browser |
| Save failed | The write did not succeed — see below |
If saving fails
The usual cause is that browser storage is full. DiagramDock will tell you and offer to export a backup. Take the export first — it is the only copy that survives — then free space by deleting old diagrams or unused images from the privacy centre.
Private and incognito windows often restrict storage and discard everything when closed. If you are doing work you want to keep, use a normal window.
