A diagram has disappeared
Why local diagrams vanish, and what can be recovered.
Diagrams are stored in one browser on one device. The usual explanations, in rough order of likelihood:
- Browser data was cleared, by you or by a cleanup tool
- You are in a private or incognito window, which discards storage on close
- You are on a different browser or device from the one you drew it on
- The browser evicted storage under space pressure
- A different browser profile is in use
If storage was cleared, the diagram cannot be recovered. DiagramDock holds no copy anywhere, which is the direct cost of it holding no copy anywhere. A workspace backup is the only protection.
